Johnson Creek Hardwoods is a small hardwood lumber business created to market timber products from our tree farm. We have been managing our timber on a sustainable basis for over 35 years, and in 2003 were recognized as Illinois Outstanding Tree Farm by the American Tree Farm System.

We are a community lumberyard and do not offer any mail order or shipping services. Please visit us to select your wood. Rockford and The Quad Cities are 60 miles from us, Sterling, Rock Falls and Dixon are south of us and Clinton, IA is west of us.

Johnson Creek Hardwoods specializes in exceptional quality domestic hardwoods. Our lumber is S2S, kiln dried, 4/4 is finish planed to 7/8, 8/4 is finish planed to 1 3/4. We are a small mill and usually deal in 100's rather than 1,000's bf orders.

We usually have: Cherry, Walnut, American Chestnut, White Oak, Red Oak, Hard Maple, Soft Maple including Box Elder, American (white)Elm, Slippery (red) Elm, Chinese Elm, Cottonwood, Basswood, Butternut, Aromatic Cedar, Ash, Hickory, Hackberry, Osage Orange and Arborvitae.

Currently, Cherry, Walnut, Chestnut, Ash, Red Oak, White Oak, Maple, Slippery Elm and Chinese Elm are available in 8/4.

Bookmatched boards are available in American Chestnut, Walnut, Cherry, Hard Maple, Ash, Red and White Oak.

Kiln dried slabs of various species, suitable for mantles or free-form coffee tables are frequently available.

Turning and bowl stock consists of both clear and crotch cuts with a lot of osage orange currently on hand. This stock is air-dried or green. Spindle and table leg stock is usually available in Cherry, Walnut and Maple.
